Can Air Force Fly Over Renown Nest At Dialog Champions League Finals
Can Air Force fly over Renown as they did against much powerful Solid, Army camps in the run up to the finals of the DCL 2013. If they do it the team will create Air force Football history as they are yet to win the DCL .In 2009 both teams played in the final and Renown won off penalties after drawing 2-2 at the final whistle. So can Air Force take the sweet revenge from Renown or will Renown repeat the same will be decided on 22ndFinals.
For Air men it was hard fought Quarters and semis against Army the pre tournament favorites and capable Solid with Afriken flavor yet came up with victories to make it to finals. On the other hand Renown who was lucky to have beaten Blue Stars at quarters with just couple of opportunities they had but played as a well combined team to beat Don Bosco at the semi finals to reach the finals. Captain m Fazal has to repeat the goal scoring for Renown who scored all 3 goals in quarters and semifinals. The tall and usually dependable Air Force defenders will have to have an eye on Fazal ,M.Riyal and Dilan Jayasuriya combination if they want to stop them scoring against them. Fazal had scored 15 goals and M Riyal 6 goals respectively.
On the other hand the Crafty dribbler Nipuna Bandara ,Kavindu Ishan and Chaminda combination will be dangerous as they can make any defense line disarray to create goal scoring moments. Isan has scored 8 goals and Nipuna Bandara 6 for Airforce and much is expected from them from Air Force camp.
The young Airforce goal keeper Ruwan Prabath had been excelled in the tournament and it is not easy to beat him while the Nigerian Goal Keeper Lorence Prince of Renown too is a dependable goal keeper who is very good on air for ball collection. So the game will be very exciting and the thousands of thousands fans expected to be at the Vernon Fernando Stadium –Kalutara is guaranteed of a quality football final.
